Archive is a space dedicated to the dialog between the created objects. It is a space for debate, exposure and encounter of contemporary design in Mexico City. Archive opened its doors in 2012 to collect, expose, research, promote and rethink the design in its different variants. It was founded by Fernando Romero and Soumaya Slim.
At Archive the objective is working with a rich design collaboration, visual identity, museography graphics and different diffusion materials. They have a collection of more than 15,000 objects, as well as a diverse exhibition and activity program. Archive has been constructed as a unique space and reference for the demanding extensive community of design and architecture in Mexico.
Archive works through the invitation of a special curator that chooses different objects and begins a speech around them; a reflection on daily life. The category of these objects must always include an architectural speech and a perfect museography plan that guides the observers into the real feeling of the exhibition. Currently there is an exhibition that works hand-in-hand with the expected Design Week in the city, and talks about the current level of design in Mexico City.
Archive is a space with an exhibition character that allows visitors, residents and design-lovers of the creative and productive world of Mexico to get nurtured over experiences, learning by means of the subject and object in different aspects. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
