Punta Mita Resort (DINE) has teamed up with PEACE Punta de Mita to provide support to those in the area who have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 crisis through the Punta de Mita Humanitarian Relief Fund.
Setting in motion both short and long term plans, the two groups plus local restaurants (Babelas’s, Tuna Blanca, Hector’s Kitchen and more) have identified nearly 200 children and 100 elderly in Punta de Mita who are at risk for not having access to daily food.
In response, weekly filled grocery bags with support from La Comer Supermarket will be distributed at various points in each town of Punta de Mita. The plan is to prioritize unemployed families of children and then expand to all 1,100 families based on incoming donations and duration of the crisis.
A single donation of $1,000 USD is expected to provide food for a five-member family for roughly five months.
