Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is preparing to introduce its first annual multigenerational Wellness Week that will feature top chefs, vegan menus, culinary workshops, fitness activities and spa offerings. Taking place October 24-30, the week will be highlighted by Mexican vegan chef Miguel Bautista who is co-founder and Executive Chef of Vegan Planet, and award-winning soulful vegan author Ellen Kanner who is the author of Feeding the Hungry Ghost: Life, Faith and What to Eat for Dinner, Huffington Post’s Meatless Monday column and Miami Herald’s Edgy Veggie columnist. The two will lead cooking and juicing classes, Vegan tastings and a plant-based food and sensuality workshop. Kanner will also lead interactive seminars on five steps to conscious eating and easy ways to swap healthier choices without sacrificing flavor or culinary authenticity.
In addition to the workshops, the spa will offer guests multigenerational treatments for all ages and the resort’s restaurants will feature vegan, gluten-free and vegetarian alternatives to the regular menus. Fitness activities will include pilates, CrossFit, meditation and yoga, the latter which will be led by the director of Mexico’s Yoga Institute.
Along with the event, the resort is offering a healthy 30% saving on its spacious Wellness Suites. Guests can take advantage of the 1,750-square-foot suites that include a personal Wellness Concierge, a massage, an in-suite personal training session, in-suite fitness amenities, an Alchimia Apothecary Aromatherapy Kit and Vitamin C Sprinkler—an in-shower spritzer of vitamin C essential oils. The Wellness Suites are $384 per person per night and resort rates will start at $309 per person per night.
