One of the most fun summer events was successfully held in one of the most beautiful beaches in the world: Mayakoba. During the first days of September the exclusive luxury complex held the first edition of Mayakoba Playa Fest, where 200 people experienced unforgettable moments and also celebrated the tenth anniversary of the renowned resort, Fairmont Mayakoba. For four days the participants enjoyed the sun and various activities led by professionals like Jessica Cichra, Yoga teacher and creator of the concept Bala Tula; Nicolas Melani, owner of SurfMex and professor of clinical surf and SUP; Diane DiMeo, internationally recognized chef and lover of street cooking; Jesus Gibaja, recognized chef known as “The Chefcito” and host of TV’s cuisine show “La cocina de Gibaja;” Kori Sutton, participant of Top Chef Mexico; and Eric de Maeyer, resident chef at Fairmont Mayakoba. To kick off the event, a magical Mayan ritual took place where attendees thanked the earth, wind, fire and sea, continuing with a big party with cuisine from the chefs and a bar to make a personalized drink. A relaxing yoga class, sustainability talk by the biologist Alonso Rojas, a stand up paddle clinic, amazing SUP races, an award ceremony and a super fun cocktail were the highlights of the first day, while a yoga class, an exciting race on the beach, water sports and a closing dinner at El Pueblito were the later activities. Due to the success of this first edition, Mayakoba Playa Fest will return the following year to offer new experiences, from July 2-5, 2017. Take note in your agenda because we are sure that you will experience incredible adventures by attending this event.
