We’d be lying if we said margaritas weren’t at least half the reason we travel to Mexico. There’s just something about sipping the refreshing drink while soaking up the Mexican sun and snacking on chips and guac.
Travelers to Thompson Playa del Carmen can enjoy the drink even more as the downtown hotel hosts a Margarita Fest August 25-26. The weekend will feature cocktail and culinary competitions amongst Riviera Maya’s top chefs and mixologists. For two days culinary journalists and renowned local and international chefs will judge the showdown and crown the winners. Expect to see and taste a masterful mix of ingredients and techniques inherited from generation to generation that are unique to the region.
Guests will be able to enjoy live music, Mexican-inspired dishes from Cinco, margaritas created by the contenders and more, all atop the hotel’s spacious rooftop.
Margarita Fest will be held August 25-26, from 12 to 8 p.m. and is open to the public.
