Mayakoba’s newest resident, Andaz Mayakoba, is preparing to debut a new series of events to transport guests into an inspiring world of creativity and passion. Andaz Salon will be a virtual venue where experiences and discussions with local influencers and experts will take place, allowing guests to connect with and share the vibe of the local, artistic community.
The first salon event will showcase experiences based on art, cinema and fashion and will take place April 28-29 and will present the following:
Cinema: “Los Días Subterraneos” and “Tale-a-Guest”
Written by Rachel Rivas and directed by Sebastian Steins, “Los Días Subterraneos” is a short film about a man who tries to lose his memory and forget the everyday. He takes refuge in his thoughts but realizes it’s impossible to escape his reality. The film will also be presented together with “Tale-a-Guest.”
Fashion: Charles Hart-Benton Fashion Showcase
Artist, illustrator and designer, Charles Hart-Benton will present his illustrations that use colored pencils and India ink of muses Stella and Barbala. The illustrations showcase the muse in outfits from the latest runway collections of luxury brands like Valentino, Gucci and Balenciaga. Hart-Benton studied art in Rome and fashion design in London before working in Paris with Emanuel Ungaro, Guy Laroche and Givenchy.
Art: Felipe Espinosa Exhibition
Local Artist, Felipe Espinosa will present his third “Lottas” exhibition that consists of 12 woodcut and linography engravings entitled “The Animal Kingdom and the Marine Line,” which highlight mythical characters from the Mayan culture. Espinosa was born in Mexico and has participated in more than 14 national and international exhibitions.
