The New Year is synonymous with resolutions and personal improvements, but now several hotels located along the beautiful, sandy beaches of Los Cabos are offering travelers the opportunity to reinvent themselves by learning a new skill that will last a lifetime while vacationing in the destination.

Art is a significant part of the Mexican culture, and there is no shortage of beautiful craftsmanship in Los Cabos. Because of this, several of the destination’s resorts offer guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in an array of art forms.

One&Only Palmilla recently introduced Art Loggia, a program where guests have the opportunity to customize art classes to suit their personal style. The program, which caters to both adults and children, can be taken at the resort’s newly added Social & Art Studio, or in the comfort of a guest’s villa. Each class is conducted by a professional artist and can focus on a variety of areas such as sculpture, mixed media and drawing.

No matter where you look, guests can delight in the traditional Mexican architecture and artwork that surrounds them at Hacienda Encantada. From the handmade Talavera tile murals to the colonial fountains, all characteristics of the resort were crafted in order to give guests the full cultural experience during their stay. In addition to being able to purchase authentic, handmade pottery at the resort, guests are encouraged to paint their own piece while being inspired by their surroundings.

Surfing is a favorite pastime and sport for both locals and visitors alike. In conjunction with the acclaimed surf company, Tropic Surf, One&Only Palmilla introduced a variety of new luxury surf tours. Additionally, Cabo Oufitters, one of the leading tour operators in the region, is committed to providing travelers a thrilling, new learning opportunity, regardless of experience, age or ability.

For the wine connoisseurs and spirit aficionados, several hotels and resorts are teaching their guests ‘tricks of the trade’ in winemaking and mixology. Grand Solmar Lands End Resort & Spa is particularly interested in educating visitors in all things wine. Hosted by an experienced sommelier, guests can play an active role in creating homemade wine while learning about its extensive history. The three-hour experience begins with barefoot grape pressing and concludes with a tasting paired with carefully selected hor d’oeuvres.

Similarly, Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort offers its guests a cocktail class one night a week to learn how to make – and enjoy – the best margarita, a Mexican classic, along with several other popular cocktails. At Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos, the cocktail class is designed to turn cocktail lovers into skilled cocktail makers with a creative and fun approach to cocktail creating.

For those looking to dive into learning a new language, several hotels offer Spanish classes for guests at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Offered as a complimentary amenity, guests of all ages are encouraged to participate at resorts such as Pueblo Bonito Resorts and Hacienda Encantada.

Travelers are encouraged to check with their resort for additional learning experiences and more details. For more information, on Los Cabos please visit: www.visitloscabos.travel
