Energy is saved by using solar power to heat the rooftop pool, Nopal (cactus) based laundry detergent, which saves 80% more water than traditional detergents, is used for laundering linens. Reusable, BPA-free water bottles are given to guests to encourage waste reduction, and the hotel’s chef sources organic herbs, microgreens and vegetables from a garden on-site. El Ganzo is also a Platinum member of The Center for Responsible Travel (CREST), which encourages guests to skip straws through their no-straw policy and uses plant fiber containers.
