Cabo bound with clubs in tow? Take Golf Digest’s editor’s recommendations and tee up at Quivira Golf Club, recipient of an Editor’s Choice Award for Best in Travel 2018, the third consecutive year the course has received the title.
“We launched this program with the mission of identifying The Best Things in Golf, with an emphasis on lifestyle properties, products and services,” said Max Adler, Golf Digest’s editorial director.” Noting that the magazine was “overwhelmed by the positive response from readers,” the Editors’ Choice awards were renewed for a third time this year.
The Editor’s Choice Award, which was inaugurated in 2016, joins the publication’s other popular award categories like Best Teachers, Hot List and Greatest Courses. In fact, Quivira was selected for the latter category earlier this year as the No. 93 pick for “World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.” The Editor’s Choice Award aims to rate “the best of everything in the total golf lifestyle,” including the most elite American and international resorts.
“Whether it’s a buddies’ trip or a getaway with our significant other, what we seek from a golf resort is an experience greater than our usual weekend round,” Golf Digest said of its selection criteria. “We want to be pampered on and off the fairways,” noting that “the joy of a great golf resort” is that “it’s overstocked with activities and diversions, and we get to pick our pleasures.”
While the course is reserved exclusively for owners in the Quivira Los Cabos communities, all guests of Pueblo Bonito Resorts also have access, with the adults-only beachfront Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort being located the closest.
The breathtaking course which opened in 2014 is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course that’s highlighted by it’s eye-catching cliffside design. Towering over the crashing ocean below, golfers have the chance to play through a variety of landscapes including foothills, dunes and cliffs. The challenging course even offers more oceanfront exposure than any other course in Los Cabos, with views of the Pacific from every hole.
