The most elite of travelers should consider jetting off to the Baja where a brand new mansion has recently opened its doors to the ritziest of guests. With an unrivaled level of luxury, this shiny new gem out-dazzles even the swankiest of beach resorts.
Celebrating its 19th anniversary on July 4, 2016, Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort unveiled one of the largest villas—28,000 square feet to be exact—on the sandy shores of San Jose del Cabo. Conceptualized by Mr. Ty Warner and officially dubbed The Ty Warner Mansion, the opening of the palatial estate marks the completion of Las Ventanas’ five year, multi-million dollar mansion development project.
“The Ty Warner Mansion is the true manifestation of an earthly paradise, unparalleled by any resort accommodation in the world,” said Frederic Vidal, managing director at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, a Rosewood Resort. “Mr. Warner has designed the mansion with the craftsmanship of an ornate jewelry box. Each room features exquisite materials with unique discoveries at every turn.”
The opulent mansion offers guests everything they would find at the resort—and more—but with an elevated level of privacy. In fact, the entrance even mimics the resort’s, complete with its own private entrance that leads to a magical courtyard encompassed by one of the largest 360-degree gardens in the world. After passing through the lush, emerald entrance, guests are welcomed into a great white room overlooking the sea with floor-to-ceiling windows and an indoor/outdoor living room. Aside from breathtaking ocean views, a reflecting pool surrounded by 7.5 million hand-laid white marble tiles catches the eye as it sparkles and reflects natural sunlight that streams through a retractable glass sun roof.
The interiors, which were overseen by designer Robert Couturier, are a refreshing white with pops of bold, colorful accents that blend in the rich culture and vivid beauty of authentic Mexican artistry. Striking colors and exotic patterns adorn hand-woven textiles, Indian-silk-upholstered sofas, hand-blown glass fixtures, hand-made organic bath accessories, hand-carved painted alberije sculptures, hand-embossed metallic furniture and a variety of original art including the colorful, wooden dragon sculpture by Claudio Ojeda Morales that greets you in the living room. Other featured artists include Cecilio Hernandez of Guanajuato, Sergio Santiago and Lucila Sosa San Antonio of Oaxaca and Guadalupe Hermosillo Escobar of Chiapas.
Like any extravagant beachfront mansion, the exterior must rival the interior and with nearly 7,000 square feet of outdoor space, this one does just that. Guests can dive into the dazzling 328-foot long private infinity pool with dual spas and a sunken in-pool living room that overlooks the Sea of Cortez or challenge each other to a game of chess on an oversize set. A private palapa-covered dining patio completes the setup, ideal for taking in the sunny views. For more outdoor bliss, ride the private elevator to the rooftop where a sundeck, glass-bottom lap pool, whirlpool spa, bar, inlaid Indian bed, putting green, custom pool table and massage pavilion are all sprawled out on a 9,000-square-foot terrace.
When the sun sets and the day ends, retire to one of two lavish ocean-view master suites that feature 20-foot ceilings and 30-foot-wide sliding glass doors that open onto the pool deck. Both rooms have en-suite bathrooms and the master bath is uniquely located beneath the glass-bottomed rooftop pool. Custom-designed Mexican artwork and Indian silk sari upholstery dress up the interiors while top-of-the-line Technogym equipment will get the heart racing and private steam rooms, saunas and outdoor showers will relax and rejuvenate.
For those who choose to stay in and dine like royalty, a private chef is available to create daily custom menus based on the guest’s needs and desires. Enjoy the cuisine in more than five dining enclaves including the refined “the silver room,” designed by San Miguel-based tinsmith Cecilio Hernandez who decked out the polished space with a silver leaf ceiling, dining chairs and a dining table. Top off your meal by sipping some of the world’s finest tequila; the mansion includes a tequila library, stocked with a collection of the world’s rarest including Clase Azul Ultra and Don Julio Real.
The mansion also includes a pinball game room and state-of-the-art media room where guests can kick back with a 14-foot widescreen UltraHD projector and 90-inch flatscreen TV with surround sound. Guests also have the luxury of a personal staff of seven at their fingertips, including a private chef, on-call driver and two butlers. The mansion also offers a “Signature Mansion Massage” for each guest and a fireworks display on request.
Starting at $35,000 per night, The Ty Warner Mansion offers guests the highest level of luxury in an alluring location.
