Valentine’s Day Events
Saturday, February 13: Bring your Valentine the romantic gift of poetry. Dawn X. Spectre, known locally as “Alba, The typewriter poet,” will offer autographed copies of Oven Honey and personalized poems crafted for you and those you love. Flora Farms will also feature a Prix Fixe Valentines Menu as well as the regular menu.
Sunday, February 14: Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Flora’s Field Kitchen. A special Sunday, Valentine’s brunch menu and special items like red heart cupcakes, lollipops, decorated cookies, truffles, chocolate cake and the doughnut bar will be available for indulging in addition to live Jazz music.
Cooking Lessons
Tuesdays: Roasted Vegetable Taco Class – Learn to make tortilla’s the old fashioned way (nixtamal) and work with herb sauces to create a sensational lunch.
Fridays: Regional Salsas
All cooking lessons include a farm tour, crafted cocktail and lunch!
The Garden
Lots of of vegetables are growing in the field this season! Discover Chef Guillermo Tellez’s creations inspired on these products: carrots, onions, red radish, turnips, kale, lettuce, Swiss chard, parsley, cilantro, fennel, arugula, broccoli, tomatoes, pak choi, Chinese Napa cabbage, Shungiku, beans, peas.
Painting Lessons
Wednesdays: Join local emerging artist Amanda Szopinski in her passion on painting from moments of life that inspire her. Two hours of painting with morning refreshments, followed by family style lunch and a glass of wine. $80 per person. All materials are included. 9 a.m. -12 p.m.
