A new mega mall near Cancun has officially broken ground. The $312 million project is being developed by Gicsa and will be home to 160 stores and 16 entertainment options.
Located in Puerto Morelos, the Grand Outlet Riviera Maya will be the company’s biggest with nearly half the space dedicated to entertainment attractions. For example, in addition to shopping and dining, other attractions will include an ice rink, a 7,500-seat auditorium, an amusement park, a go-kart track and a hot air balloon. There will also be three hotels: City Express Plus, City Express Suites and NH.
The Grand Outlet Riviera Maya “malltertainment” concept is scheduled to open in October 2020. Gicsa also has plans to open the Grand Outlet concept in the Riviera Nayarit and another unknown resort destination. In the past three years, the firm opened La Isla Mérida, Explanada Puebla and Paseo Querétaro.
