Hilton has announced plans to bring the Waldorf Astoria Cancun (pictured above) and an all-inclusive Hilton Cancun resort to an area near the municipality of Benito Juarez, Cancun. Set to open in 2021, the two neighboring properties will be spread across 100 acres of Caribbean beachfront and offer distinct characteristics and amenities.
“With more than half of our Latin America portfolio present in Mexico, we are proud to announce the plans for Waldorf Astoria Cancun and Hilton Cancun as we continue to introduce distinguished properties in the world’s most sought-after destinations,” said Juan Corvinos, vice president, development, Latin America and the Caribbean, Hilton. “Representing our luxury and upscale brands respectively, Waldorf Astoria Cancun and Hilton Cancun will offer guests a taste of Mexican culture fused with Waldorf Astoria’s uncompromising sophistication and Hilton Hotels & Resort’s flagship hospitality.”
The Waldorf Astoria Cancun will have 150 guest rooms and suites, with either waterfront or mangrove-facing terraces and private balconies. The signature Waldorf Astoria spa will integrate Mexican healing traditions with native ingredients in state-of-the-art facilities with two plunge pools and two dining experiences. Additional dining outlets will serve up locally sourced Yucatecan cuisine.
The neighboring Hilton Cancun will be much larger with 600 guest rooms along with a swimming pool complex, curated adventures in local art, food and culture along with six all-inclusive unique culinary experiences.
Both hotels will feature expansive meeting and event space and be able to accommodate an assortment of events from small gatherings to large weddings.
Design firms SB Architects, EDSA and HBA have been selected to design both properties that will feature modern lines, repetitive patters and undulating forms. Classic Mexican colors and materials, as well as modern design elements and technology will also be incorporated into both properties.
