For this reason, the Mexican Tourism Board created the Magical Towns Program, an initiative that seeks to promote a series of towns across the country that are significant due to their history, rich culture, unique traditions, and natural beauty. These towns welcome visitors from all around the world, offering them a truly magical experience. Below is a list of our five favorite magical towns to say ‘I Do’ in Mexico… in no particular order.
1. Sayulita
Sayulita is a small town with a legendary surfing scene that encompasses all the charm and colorful culture of Mexico in its cobblestone streets, small restaurants and shops. Whether you tie the knot at a luxurious private villa, or at a charming boutique hotel, Sayulita’s boho-chic vibes and amazing year-round weather, make it a magical place for couples to stage their Mexican fiesta.

2. San Cristóbal de las Casas
Located in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas, San Cristobal sits 7,200 feet above sea level and is one of Mexico’s best preserved Spanish colonial towns. A massive wealth of flora, fauna and wildlife contribute to the natural beauty of this region. This magical town is also an important coffee-growing region, offering coffee lovers the opportunity to visit various local coffee plantations. 3. Tulum
When it comes to unique beach destinations for experiential travel, Tulum is one of Mexico’s hot spots. 4. Todos Santos
The artist’s and surfer’s enclave of Todos Santos is located on the Pacific coast of lower Baja, just north of Los Cabos. This magical town offers secluded beaches, some of the best surf in the country, cobblestone streets lined with artisan shops and galleries, refurbished haciendas in the old part of town, boutique hotels, and a tranquil lifestyle.
