Originally from Puebla city, Julieta Amezcua moved to Los Cabos in 2010 where she now creates some of the dreamiest wedding images. Her love for photography has allowed her to express her artistic side and create a career that doesn’t even feel like work for her. Even at a young age Julieta enjoyed working, always helping her parents in her free time. Now, when she’s not snapping photos of beautiful couples tying the knot, she enjoys reading, drawing and playing the piano. Here, we dive into her life as a wedding photographer in Cabo and why it’s such a beautiful destination to say ‘I do.’
InMexico: Did you study photography or are you self-taught?
Julieta Amezcua: I would say it is a combination of both! Since I was little I was always taking photos. I used to bring my mom’s camera everywhere and for 10 years all my presents were camera related. I had all kinds of cameras, from film to digital cameras, disposables, instant and even water proof! Later on I saw this could be more than a hobby and began getting photography books and enrolling in online courses.
How would you describe your style of photography?
Always seeking natural light and candid moments, I love capturing how my couples interact with each other in a real way. My goal is that they forget the camera and show me their true selves.
What’s your favorite part of being a wedding photographer?
The result. I love reading my client’s comments and how they felt when reliving moments through my photos.
What is it about Los Cabos that makes it such a sought-after destination for luxury weddings?
Definitely the warmth, personalized and professional service from all vendors that are part of the wedding industry in Cabo. In addition to this we are privileged to live in such a gorgeous destination.

Going back to the basics, vintage looks, old look, desaturated colors and film photography we all love!
What’s your favorite part of being a wedding photographer?
Meeting new people from different places and traditions and interacting with them. Also, being my own boss and working from home!
What are your favorite venues for Cabo weddings?
All venues have their charm, I especially love locations that combine desert looks and the ocean, also places where I can capture the colors of La Baja, its landscapes and unique sunsets.
