Onora is a company of two women, united by the passion on textiles and craft work. They are Maggie Galton and Maria Eladia Hagerman. The first one, a New Yorker and the second woman a Mexican that resides in Los Angeles. United from fifteen years ago in collaboration with the magnificent work of craftsmen to generate textiles and accessories for homes, made with natural materials and the best taste.
The interests of the company are the balance between the traditional methodology and new trends, the craft work, rewarding the local talent and respect to the environment and the traditional patterns. Their collections reinterpret the original designs but with an extra on the aesthetics to generate a line of recognizable character in all the accessories and work of Onora. Not only are the objects with taste and texture of the finest seem and feel, the work is a reflection of the looks of contemporary interior design that is located in the cosmopolitan lifestyle.
With Onora, clients are not only helping to contribute to the handmade design and talent, but they enrich the spaces with cultural identity of the Mexican indigenous communities. Not only are the creators of this company dedicated to the beauty and the handicraft work, they are a hybrid of culture and talent.
Maggie G. is an art historian, with fifteen years trajectory of experience in both formal institutions, such as public and private, as well as NGOS. Maria Eladia H. is a Mexican designer, who has worked in graphic and editorial design. The result of this combination is the great network of the craftsmen in various areas of the country as well as the sensitivity and curation of identity and character.
Part of the company’s goal is to collaborate with architects and specialists in interior design to create spaces with custom atmospheres, concepts to the deepest point and with the intention to redial the Mexican talent.
