The St. Regis hotel group came to Mexico City to become the most sophisticated and luxurious development in the city, both in the hotel and residential areas. The creative studio called STUDIOROCA, which has developed several projects since 2002, was commissioned to design this apartment located in the building on Avenida Reforma. The St. Regis Apartment was conceived as a simple and achromatic space where the play of light and shadow creates a space to be discovered while in transit. The place has the advantage of having high altitude and impressive windows, but only such a creative and professional teamwork as the one composed by Rodrigo Alegre and Carlos Acosta can capitalize on that. Reflections through the glass, chrome elements and mirrors play an important part in this project, as we can enjoy the space in a parallel dimension through them. As might be expected of such a sophisticated space, the apartment has an automation system, which involves lighting, AC, TV and audio. The range of colors in the structure and furniture are mainly black and white based but the decorative details give it its own personality, playing with shapes and textures. We can’t fail to mention our favorite part however, consisting of a glass cube with wet areas inside, ultimately an original and avant-garde idea from STUDIOROCA.
