Not only do they produce some gorgeous projects, they also carry hard-to-find types of wood like Ancient Kauri slabs from New Zealand—of which they are the exclusive West Coast distributor of—that date back 45,000-52,000 years—how’s that for vintage?
The team at Vintage Timberworks specializes in hewn, sawn or planed old timbers and boarding for use in a variety of gorgeous ways like rustic open beam ceilings, timber trusses, mantles, interior and exterior wall paneling and siding and rustic wood flooring. Oak, chestnut, maple, Douglas Fir and Indonesian Teak are some of the antique wood floorings they manufacture. Recently they got their hands on virgin white oak 16″ wide joists that’s known for its ability to create wide plank floors of dreams. The wood comes from Rainelle, West Virginia from the Meadow River Lumber Co., the largest hardwood mill in the world in its day.
There’s a chance visitors and residents of Cabo San Lucas have seen some of their work before while relaxing seaside, sipping on a margarita. The beach club in the exclusive community of El Dorado Golf & Beach Club is one of their many projects south of the border, along with a recent home in the same community that boasts a forest and small golf course on its roof. They are also responsible for multiple residencies in the esteemed Querencia community.
In addition to recently finishing the beachfront home in the coveted Cabo community of El Dorado, Vintage Timberworks has also had its hand (for the second time) in completing the Limited Edition Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster guitars—all from hand selected one-piece solid old growth Redwood derived from bridge timbers. The main yard and fully-staffed showroom and sawmill facility, located in Temecula, California contains 1.5 million board feet of reclaimed wood from all around the world. There are also a slew of on-site services available including full millwork, hand detailing, truss fabrications, mantle fabrications and structural certifications.
