Tijuana is one city that has more character than most places in Mexico, mixing languages, words, gastronomy and culture. The city becomes the bridge between two worlds. The art in Tijuana has grown exponentially to express the different cultures that are manifested in this unique, special space.
The CECUT is the Cultural Center of Tijuana that was founded in 1982 by the architect Pedro Ramirez Vazquez. The cultural center offers a wide and diverse exhibition of art and culture in the northeast of the country. It is the only infrastructure of the Culture Department with the National Council for Culture and Arts that is not located in the country’s capital.
This architectural piece exists with the objective of satisfying the artistic and cultural needs of the population by means of programs with different activities, traditional and contemporary topics in culture and the space itself grows as a meeting and appreciation point.
The architectural space is divided into different spaces: IMAX Dome, Museum of the Californias, entertainment hall, movie theater, aquarium and other halls with different uses. The total project field is 3.5 hectares, located 2 km away from the border of the United States of America. CECUT is the architectural symbol of greatest recognition in Tijuana and a total classic!
