Casa Bosques Library

In Architecture & Design by Isabella Moreno

There are plenty of magical spaces found in cities that create feelings and sensations. Some give us peace of mind, others welfare, happiness or anxiety and distress. This will often be determined by the design, architecture, lighting and atmosphere that is generated by means of chosen colors, objects, materials and details that make up a place. The great Mexico City is formed by many of these “magical” spaces, where corners of tranquility and well-being hide behind old facades or high walls that protect the oasis inside of them.

Casa Bosques at Anatole 13 is one of these places. It was created by Savvy Studio after the success of the first library at the street Cordoba 25. Casa Bosques is a bookshop specializing in photography, film, architecture, music, contemporary art and critical theory. In addition to this, you can find the most exquisite chocolates in the city. The sweets are in collaboration with the master chocolatier, Jorge Llanderal, who combines cocoa from different countries with spices such as curry, cardamom, rosemary, wasabi and ginger. No doubt you will be amazed by the different flavors that seem out of this world.

The concept of Casa Bosques was curated by the multidisciplinary artist Jorge de la Garza who carefully chose the most relevant pieces of the independent publisher scene, both national and international. As well as the editorials, the chosen magazines imported from the United States, Germany and England have been brought to this space for guests’ convenience. Without doubt this is the right place to find the most specific and unique pieces that you can dream up. The entire space, in addition to the incredible bookstore, has different options for industrial design, fashion and gastronomy. If you don’t know it yet, it is a must for anyone interested in these topics.
