A LIFE SHAPED BY CONNECTION
For Cory Paul Martin, travel has never simply been about seeing the world. It has always been about meeting people, discovering opportunities and allowing one unexpected connection to lead to another.
That philosophy eventually brought him to Tulum, a place that would completely change the direction of his life.
“Moving to Tulum completely changed my life, personally, professionally and spiritually,” Martin says.
What began as a destination soon became his home, his community and the center of an increasingly diverse career spanning hospitality, luxury real estate, mezcal and art.
At the heart of it all is something Martin has always understood instinctively: the power of connecting people.
Throughout his journey, he has made introductions that have evolved into businesses, partnerships, friendships and meaningful relationships. His philosophy is simple: a network becomes more valuable when it is shared.
“Connect the right people, then let the magic happen.”
This approach has connected Martin with some of the creative personalities shaping modern Tulum, including Mai Medina and Gisela of Tuluminati.
TULUM: FROM DESTINATION TO HOME
Mexico gave Martin more than a new place to live. It offered him the freedom to explore different passions, build new ventures and continually reinvent himself.
Tulum, in particular, became the meeting point between his personal and professional worlds. Its international community, creative energy and distinctive lifestyle created an environment where unexpected ideas could turn into real opportunities.
“I came to Mexico for Tulum and somehow ended up with a second home, a mezcal company, luxury residences to sell, an art gallery, a million friends and a completely different life.”
Then comes the line that perhaps summarizes his journey best:
“Clearly, I’m very bad at taking a simple vacation.”
DISCOVERING THE SOUL OF MEZCAL
Martin’s journey through Mexico also led him to T.O. Mezcal, where he works alongside Courtney and David Yurko, and Alfonso Tramp.
Through the brand, he developed a deeper relationship with Oaxaca and Chichicapam, where the mezcal is produced. Experiencing the land, the agave, the people and the generations of knowledge behind the spirit transformed his understanding of Mexico.
For Martin, mezcal is more than a product. It represents tradition, community and a profound connection to the place from which it comes.

A NEW CHAPTER IN LUXURY AND ART
Today, Martin’s story in Mexico is entering another chapter.
He is currently working with Faena Tulum, selling residences alongside Matias. The project brings together many of the worlds he knows best: luxury hospitality, architecture, design, real estate, lifestyle and the international network he has built through years of travel.
At the same time, Martin is preparing to open a new art gallery, transforming another lifelong passion into a business dedicated to discovering artists and introducing creative talent to new audiences.
Although these ventures may appear different, they all share the same foundation: people, culture, relationships and opportunity.
Whether he is introducing two people, presenting a residence, sharing mezcal or discovering an artist, Martin continues to do what has always come naturally to him: create connections and give them space to grow.
FREEDOM, AUTHENTICITY AND SELF-LOVE
Behind Martin’s humor lies a deeper philosophy about the way he wants to live.
Freedom and authenticity are non-negotiable. He credits his parents with giving him the space to travel, explore, make mistakes and create an unconventional life without forcing him into someone else’s definition of success.
One of his greatest personal lessons has been learning to genuinely know and love himself.
“When you really know yourself and love yourself, your relationships become healthier, your decisions become clearer and you stop needing everyone else to validate you.”
Despite traveling around the world, there is still one place Martin chooses whenever he needs to reset.
Tulum. No competition.
“The jungle, ocean, wellness, food, music, people and energy completely reset me,” he says.

Travel. Step outside the environment you know. Meet people whose lives are different from your own. Learn from locals. Take risks. Stay curious. Allow your plans to change.
“Some of the greatest things that have ever happened to me started because I went somewhere new, met someone unexpected and said yes.”
