The exciting Mexican tradition is returning to Flora Farms for a second year. The Day of the Dead altar competition will be taken to the highest artistic level while local businesses vie to win prizes for their favorite local charities. The competition will feature 15 altars designed by local artists and businesses working together with 15 local charities that will be displayed on Flora Farms’ grounds. Visitors will be able to vote for their favorites by guiding themselves around the altar walk with fun interactive maps.
Four awards will be presented:
- Most Original (Popular Vote): $500
- Most Traditional (Popular Vote): $500
- Most Original (Juried Vote): $1,000
- Most Traditional (Juried Vote): $1,000
The night of the unveiling will take place on Wednesday, November 2 from 6:30–9:00 p.m. and will feature drinks, snacks and entertainment. Voting will take place on November 2 throughout the day and the altars will be displayed at the farm until November 6.
